Although this movie won 0 out of 5 Oscar nominations, it gets at least three and a half thumbs up out of five from me 👍🏼. It's a sweet movie about growing up with friends and family while not having it all together, or even fully knowing who you are and what you stand for.
The Lost City of Z
The interesting true story about how an obsession and unanswered questions can completely take over a man. Decent movie.
The Big Sick
Based on the true story of how Kumail Nanjiani’s hung out with his (to-be) wife’s parents for a while when she was sick. It makes for a surprisingly good movie.
Intense movie about an obsessed drummer who is pushed to his limits by his demanding teacher. Miles Teller and J.K. Simmons give an absolutely great performance!
The Way Way Back
This is my fallback movie in case we can't decide what to watch. It's about an awkward kid called Duncan who secretly gets a job at a water park.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower
An introvert is taken under the wings of two seniors. They show him a piece of the real world.
500 Days of Summer
"I don't want to get over her, I want to get her back!"
Christopher Nolans (The Dark Knight, Inception..) breakthrough movie is well crafted and set up Nolans signature non-linear story telling. This should be on every movie buffs watch(ed) list.
Léon: The Professional
A little girl is taken in by a hitman after her family is murdered. They form a most unusual but intriguing bond.
The Breakfast Club
Five very different students get locked in school for detention discover they have more in common than they previously thought. It's not the most modern movie anymore, but it's a good one.
